What a difference a few days can make!?! I am guessing, but I think the team is seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. This week officially ends the 'conditioning' to compensate from the lost time of having the summer off. We start on the mat next Monday. Hallelujah!! Coach Cook and myself have both been dying to see how we actually - wrestle.
I don't mean to sound like the running was getting old. We made huge strides, in fact tomorrow we are doing the exact same workout that started with at the beginning of the year, and I fully expect the kids to laugh at how easy it will seem.
We also formally charged the team to be consistent all week, and I can report that we have done so, to near full extent.
On another note, our Parent/Coach meeting was earlier this week. I can truly say that our parents are amazing. Everything in the meeting went smoothly. Great questions were asked, booster club support was given, parents stepped up in multiple capacities to help the team succeed. I am truly blessed to have this support. I know that MANY other coaches are trying to pull an additional load that I don't have to because of the support I have.
Blog in short: Thank you parents and athletes, this was a GREAT week.
Reminder: The six weeks ends next Friday, October 3rd. Students- you need to be working extra hard/studying this next week.

Please count Augustus Kortemeier's parents in for team support with tournaments and anything you may need. We were not aware of the meeting (probably Gus not relaying info) and would have loved to meet the Wylie Wrestling Family. We are there to assist as needed, we are members of the booster club. If we can help let us know. Paul and Beverly Gunther
