Disappointment

Wow! The team had a rough week. Wight was out Wednesday, and Friday because his wife had surgery. The disappointment revolves around the team's response while he was out. Absences increased, good effort was sparse, as well as out right insubordination reared its head.

Before I rant, I'd like to thank the wrestlers who did show up to: workout hard, remained consistent throughout the week, and help sell programs at the homecoming football game.

The rant: The team is selling football programs for only two games during the year. This Friday many wrestlers didn't show, many had attitude problems, some flat-out said 'screw it' and watched the game - - walking right past their teammates that were selling programs like they were asked to do.

How is it that humility has taken such a backseat to the self-absorbed egos on the team? When will the team learn that even in an individual sport, teamwork is essential? Why is everyday a fight?
